Easy Air Fryer Mozzarella Sticks
Last weekend, I made these for my kid’s sleepover and they disappeared faster than I could make them!
Golden, crunchy exterior gives way to molten mozzarella that stretches beautifully with each bite. Perfect for parties, movie nights, or when you need comfort food fast.

Variations & Substitutions
Instead of regular mozzarella, try pepper jack for a spicy kick or sharp cheddar for a bolder flavor. You can substitute the panko breadcrumbs with crushed cornflakes for extra crunch, or use seasoned breadcrumbs if you don’t have Italian seasoning on hand.
For a different coating, try using crushed crackers mixed with parmesan cheese, or even finely ground nuts like almonds or pecans for a unique twist that adds richness.

Tips & Tricks for Perfect Results
Freezing the cheese sticks is crucial – it prevents them from melting too quickly and oozing out during cooking. Don’t overcrowd your air fryer basket; cook in batches if needed for even browning.
The double breading technique creates that restaurant-quality crunch we all crave. Make sure your air fryer is properly preheated, and don’t skip the cooking spray as it helps achieve that beautiful golden color.

Storage & Reheating
Store leftover mozzarella sticks in the refrigerator for up to 3 days in an airtight container. For best results, reheat them in the air fryer at 350°F for 2-3 minutes to restore their crispiness.
You can also freeze the breaded, uncooked sticks on a baking sheet, then transfer to freezer bags for up to 3 months.
Cook frozen sticks directly in the air fryer, adding 2-3 extra minutes to the cooking time. Avoid microwaving as it makes them soggy.
