Pizza Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Pizza and grilled cheese? Yes, please! I always make these for quick lunches or late-night snacks—especially when I’m craving something cheesy and nostalgic.

The crispy crust, gooey cheese, and pepperoni take me right back to childhood pizza parties, but with way less cleanup!

Variations & Substitutions

You can swap pepperoni for cooked sausage, ham, or even crispy bacon for a meaty twist. Love a little heat? Add sliced jalapeños or a sprinkle of crushed red pepper.

Try smoked provolone or cheddar in place of mozzarella for a different vibe. For a garlic punch, rub the bread with a cut clove of garlic before assembling.

Tips & Tricks for Perfect Results

Use a sturdy bread—thin slices can get soggy fast. Don’t rush the cooking; low and slow ensures the cheese melts before the bread burns.

Press the sandwich gently with a spatula for that golden, crispy crust. If you’re feeding a crowd, keep finished sandwiches warm on a baking sheet in a low oven while you make more.

Storage & Reheating

Leftover sandwiches? Wrap them tightly in foil and refrigerate for up to two days. To reheat, pop them in a toaster oven or skillet over medium-low heat until the cheese is gooey again and the bread crisps up. Avoid microwaving, as it can make the bread chewy instead of crisp.
