Healthy Greek Yogurt Parfait

Layered with creamy Greek yogurt, fresh mixed berries, and crunchy granola, this parfait makes you feel genuinely good about what you’re eating. With a honey-vanilla yogurt base kissed with cinnamon, it’s packed with protein and fiber without sacrificing a single bit of flavor.

It takes ten minutes flat to pull together, looks gorgeous in a glass, and works just as well for a weekday breakfast as it does for a lazy weekend brunch spread.

Variations & Substitutions

Swap the mixed berries for sliced peaches, mango chunks, or even roasted plums for something a little more unexpected. For a dairy-free option, coconut yogurt works wonderfully and gives the parfait a subtle tropical note.

If you prefer a nut-free version, pumpkin seeds or sunflower seeds are a great alternative to the sliced almonds. You can also drizzle some almond butter or peanut butter between the layers for extra richness and staying power.

Tips & Tricks for Perfect Results

The biggest thing I’d recommend here is to use full-fat Greek yogurt rather than the low-fat version. The texture is so much creamier and it holds up much better in the layers without getting watery. Another tip — don’t add your granola too far in advance if you plan to store these, because it will get soggy quickly.

If you want a little more thickness to your yogurt layer, strain it through a cheesecloth for about an hour in the fridge beforehand. This gives you that extra rich, thick consistency that makes every spoonful feel like a treat.

Serving Suggestions

These parfaits work as a satisfying breakfast alongside a hot cup of coffee or a freshly brewed herbal tea. They’re also great as an afternoon snack when that mid-day energy dip hits. For a brunch spread, set up a little parfait bar where guests can build their own.

You can also serve these in smaller portions as a light dessert after a summer dinner. Pair them with a sparkling water infused with cucumber or lemon for a refreshing, feel-good combination.

Equipment Needed

You won’t need anything fancy to pull this recipe together, which is one of the things I love most about it.

  • Medium mixing bowl
  • Rubber spatula or large spoon for mixing
  • Sharp knife and cutting board (for slicing strawberries)
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • 4 tall glasses, mason jars, or serving bowls
  • Paper towels (for drying berries)

Prep Ahead Tips

You can mix the yogurt base — with the honey, vanilla, and cinnamon — up to three days ahead of time and store it covered in the fridge. The berries can be washed, sliced, and stored in an airtight container for up to two days.

When you’re ready to assemble, everything comes together in under five minutes. If you want fully assembled parfaits ready to grab, prep them the night before but keep the granola stored separately and add it right before eating so it stays crisp.

Budget Tips

Buying a large container of plain Greek yogurt is almost always cheaper per serving than buying individual cups. Frozen berries are an excellent and affordable swap for fresh, especially outside of peak berry season — just thaw them overnight in the fridge and pat them dry before using.

Making your own granola at home with rolled oats, a little oil, honey, and cinnamon is also a huge money-saver compared to the store-bought versions and takes only about 20 minutes.

Storage & Reheating

Fully assembled parfaits (without granola) can be stored in airtight jars or containers in the refrigerator for up to two days. After that, the berries start to release too much liquid and the yogurt can get a bit watery.

Always store the granola separately in a sealed bag or container at room temperature and add it right before serving. The yogurt mixture on its own will keep well in the fridge for up to four days, so feel free to mix a big batch at the start of the week.

Prep Time:10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 3 cups plain full-fat Greek yogurt
  • 3 tablespoons honey or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups fresh mixed berries strawberries, blueberries, raspberries
  • 1 cup granola homemade or store-bought without added sugar
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 2 tablespoons sliced almonds
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Start by grabbing a medium mixing bowl and adding your Greek yogurt, honey, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon. Give everything a really good stir until it’s well combined and that cinnamon is evenly distributed throughout. Taste it at this point and adjust the honey if you want things a little sweeter.
  • Wash and prep your berries now if you haven’t already. If you’re using strawberries, slice them into bite-sized pieces so they layer nicely. Pat everything dry with a paper towel so excess moisture doesn’t water down your yogurt layer.
  • Now for the fun part — the assembly! Grab four glasses or bowls and add a few spoonfuls of the yogurt mixture to the bottom of each one. You’re going for a generous layer here, about three to four tablespoons worth.
  • Sprinkle a layer of granola over the yogurt, followed by a generous handful of your fresh mixed berries. Add another layer of yogurt on top of that, pressing down very gently with your spoon.
  • Repeat the layering process one more time so you end up with two full layers in each glass. Finish each parfait off with a final scattering of granola, a few extra berries, your chia seeds, and those sliced almonds on the very top.
  • If you’re serving these right away, add a sprig of fresh mint on top for a little pop of color and freshness. Serve immediately and enjoy every single bite!
